Chatbot development

A bot that knows
when to stop talking

Most chatbots are a search box wearing a costume. The useful ones do one job properly and hand the rest to a person.

The difference

Same question, two bots

One of these costs you a customer politely. The exchanges below are written to show the pattern, not taken from a client.

A search box in a costume

Do you deliver to Scarborough on a Sunday?

Great question! We offer a range of convenient delivery options designed around your needs. Would you like to know more about our services?

So, do you?

I am here to help! What else can I assist you with today?

A bot that knows its job

Do you deliver to Scarborough on a Sunday?

Scarborough yes, Sunday no. The last Sunday pickup is 4pm and delivery resumes Monday morning. Want me to book Monday?

My order was supposed to arrive yesterday.

That one needs a person. I have passed it to the team with your order number, and somebody will answer here.

The problem

Judging a token means reading on chain data most people cannot read, and the tools that show it produce tables rather than an answer.

What was built

On chain data runs through risk heuristics first: holder concentration, liquidity, contract issues. A fine tuned model then turns that result into something a person can read. Five chains, two analysis modes, and the model never invents the underlying numbers because it is not the thing that gathers them.

What changed

The chat gives a verdict with the reasoning attached, rather than a paragraph of hedging.

What gets built

What a useful bot is made of

Retrieval over your own content
Answers come from your pages, prices and policies rather than from whatever the model remembers.
A fine tuned model where it earns it
Only where a general model is not accurate enough, and only when the accuracy can be checked.
Handover at the right moment
The bot stops when it stops being useful and passes the conversation with its context attached.
Logging you can read
What people actually asked, including the questions it could not answer. That list is usually the most useful thing it produces.
Before you commit

What people ask about chatbots

It answers from your own content rather than from what a model remembers, and where the numbers matter they are gathered by code rather than written by the model. Where it does not know, it says so and hands over.

They are logged, and that list is usually the most valuable thing the bot produces. It is your customers telling you which page is missing.

Rarely. A general model with retrieval over your content covers most cases. Fine tuning is worth it when accuracy can be measured and a general model keeps missing.

Yes, and it should. The handover carries the conversation and the context, so your customer does not start again from the beginning.

Only if you answer the same ten questions every day. If you do not, a clear prices page will outperform a bot and cost less.

Send me the questions you answer every day

Ten of them is enough. If a bot cannot answer those exactly, it should not be on your site, and you will be told that rather than sold one.
